Service Description

Provides medically supervised inpatient and outpatient withdrawal/detoxification services for people who want to stop using alcohol or substance. Includes:
  • Inpatient detox for people who require medical supervision (offered at Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility)
  • Outpatient detox for people who require less monitoring (offered at various Community Addictions locations across PEI)

Eligibility:
Individuals ages 18 years and older who require medical assistance to withdraw from substance or alcohol * For youth who require these services, please contact the Provincial Addiction Treatment Facility for information

How to Access:
Inpatient detoxification: Call toll-free number to request admission * Wait time typically ranges from same day admission to three daysOutpatient detoxification: Call toll free number or any Community Mental Health/Addiction Service location to request services
